.925 Sterling Silver Heart Necklace
"Keep Joe Close To Heart" was created to commemorate the great Coach Joe Paterno of Penn State University. It started as a class project for ENGR 407:Technology Based Entrepreneurship with a group of 4 students. The original necklace is a .925 Sterling Silver plated heart hung from a necklace made from the same silver engraved with "Believe deep down in your heart that you're destined to do great things." The project was a great success, and hundreds were sold individually. They are now available online and exclusively in stores at McLanahan's in downtown State College, PA. The business has expanded to make many other forms of jewelry as well as different variations of the original. Starting in the Fall of 2012, every single purchase from "Keep Joe Close to Heart" will benefit THON. Keep Joe Close to Heart has pledged to donate $5.00 per item purchased to Penn State Dance Marathon supporting pediatric cancer research through the four diamonds fund. The goal is to raise money for THON and donate it in the name of The Paterno Family who has done more for Penn State than any other.
